Ohio Healthy Schools Profile System

A variety of health, wellness and school climate issues interact to either support or undermine student performance in school. To track these factors, the Ohio Department of Education contracted with AIR to develop and administer the Ohio Healthy Schools Profile System, which supports data collection, analysis, and reporting of health risk and protective factors that affect student learning. Data are collected through an online survey administered to all districts and school buildings in the state. The survey is aligned with other ongoing data collection in the state to reduce participant burden.

The Ohio Healthy Schools Profile System is designed to provide districts with local data related to student risk behavior, protective factors, school climate, staff wellness and parent engagement with measures that are collected consistently across the state. The data collected allow districts and schools to plan comprehensively, implement and evaluate policies, and plan for school improvement, programs and services that address the needs of the whole child and increase student wellness.
