Universities and colleges are stepping up and into the delivery of classes and information through massive open online courses by partnering with such providers as Udemy, Coursera, edX and Udacity to offer classes. Some supporters call Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) game changers for higher education, even though little is yet known about their effectiveness or about claims made about equity, access, and cost savings.

Join the American Council on Education and the American Institutes for Research for a discussion of fresh thinking about MOOCs and their potential to spur real change in educational service delivery. Panelists will tackle such questions as what data and analytics are needed to answer questions about impact and effectiveness, how to use the data to drive policy and practice, and what additional research is needed to gauge MOOC’s efficacy.
