Cultivating Oral Language and Literacy Talent in Young English Learners (Webinar)

Please join experts from the Center for English Learners at AIR on June 22, 2017 to learn how teachers can support the development of oral language and pre-literacy skills in preschool and kindergarten English learners (ELs).

In this introductory one-hour encore webinar, participants will learn about Cultivating Oral Language and Literacy Talent in Students (COLLTS), an approach created by Dr. Diane August and a team of AIR experts with decades of experience in developing research-based effective literacy interventions for EL students. COLLTS uses engaging vocabulary routines, shared interactive reading of high-quality children's books, and shared writing to support ELs' language acquisition.

Early childhood education administrators and teachers at the state, district, and local levels should participate in the webinar. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about implications and implementation.
