Join the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and The George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development for the first in a series of seminars on what the national attainment agenda means for individuals. The conversation about increasing the number of postsecondary degree and certificate holders almost always centers on U.S. competitiveness and productivity at home and abroad. Only rarely are the needs and dilemmas of individual students front and center.

• Who are the students now being encouraged to enroll in and complete college?
• How can we better understand what these students need and want so that they obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to get and keep jobs?
• What public and institutional policies best help students on the margin of postsecondary enrollment and success?
